Just in time for a fathers day purchase. He is at "Brainvessel The Gallery", 4704 Carlisle Pike, Mechanicsburg, PA. Come in and check him out!

"Sunset" by Debra Tritt Kreiger

"12"x22" watercolor on 260lb arches paper

This egret was resting along the Beaufort River in S.C. I liked the backlighting of the bird and decided to create a sunset sky to play off the cool white of the bird. The colors in this new painting sing! See in person at the Carlisle Arts Learning Center Exhibit(Shared Observations), 38 West Pomfret Ave., Carlisle, PA from May 19th - June 19th.

Vineyard Melody

I find the wine country of Northeast, PA a very picturesque and beautiful place to paint.

Transparent Watercolor on Cresent Mat Board
First Part of a Mated Pair of Chum Salmon- Stream Version
Image Area for Part One-Female is 9" x 4.5".
Note: Non-Professional Photograph.

While this salmon appears colorful-
like many females in the animal kingdom,
she is almost dull in comparison to the Male of the Species.
The next half of this painting is the colorful half- The Male.
The Chum Salmon is found in the Northwest- most common
in the Alaska waters. It is part of my series of
Salmon and Char Species Watercolor Studies.

Patricia A. Griffin "GOLDEN", 20''x60'' oil on linen,Grizzly Bear

Catching a scent, this grizzly is a mass of
fur caught in the golden afternoon rays. I captured this image on my August 2010 Yellowstone trip and have been doing a rash of bear paintings since. It's amazing how tough these beasts can be and how tender they are at distance. I saw 11 grizzly on the trip. I am most thankful for those sightings.
Process exceeds perfection.

BLEEDING HEARTS
100 Paintings in 100 Days 'Inspirations from a Back Yard' Challenge
by Claire Beadon Carnell
02/100

'Bleeding Hearts' 02/100
6 x 6 Oil on panel

When we moved from California to Pennsylvania
when I was six years old, this was one of the
first flowers I remember seeing in my grandmother's garden.
Of course I was completely entranced - who could
believe that a flower could actually grow in the
shape of a heart, and be such a beautiful shade of
pink!
As an adult, I have always grown them wherever
I could have a garden and I still get the same
amount of pleasure seeing those little pink hearts
as I did when I was six.

"Sunflower" by Debra Tritt-Kreiger

"Sunflower" 10"x14" Watercolor on 140lb Arches Paper

I started this painting one cold afternoon at Gallerie 13 and finished it in my studio. I used different colors for the background and used salt to achieve the texture. I have to say I played for awhile until I got the look I was going for. I think the sunflower looks warm and happy!

"Maine Coast" By Debra Tritt-Kreiger

"Maine Coast" 4"x6" Watercolor on 140lb Arches Paper

This is a small painting I did from a photo reference I took from our trip to Maine. I loved the way the mist softens the background. Gives the painting a little mystery.

BACK DOOR GARDEN
by Claire Beadon Carnell

'Back Door Garden'
Oil 36 x 48
NFS

As I sit here this morning in anticipation of whether
or not the Groundhog will predict an early Spring, I
thought that this painting I did of the garden in my
back yard would fool my senses into thinking that
Winter is finally on it's way out...knowing in reality
that snow is predicted for this evening. Sigh...
I'll just continue to think of rugosa roses, blue bachelor
buttons, Irises and lilacs...I can smell their sweet
scent...and I think I see a little bird feathering his nest
in the white birdhouse that hangs above my basement
door...

I've been inspired by all of you to work on some mini paintings. They are a lot of fun. Here I tried to place the shells at an interesting angle and tried to show depth, texture and form.

'Study of a Black Crappie (Pomoxis nigromaculatus)' by Thom Glace

Transparent Watercolor on Crescent Watercolor Board
Image Size: 10" x 8". Matted Size: 14" x 11".

I just hung this painting up at the Bosler Library in Carlisle on an exhibit with CALC. I have had a lot of fun with this painting. It is one of 2 of this Genus that includes the White Crappie. My best selling mug has the 2 Cappies on it facing each other and the saying- 'Crappie Coffee'. My best selling note card has this painting on it with the saying -
'Sorry to hear you are feeling...'  then it has the picture of the Black Crappie and under it the Name and Scientific name above. Inside it says 'Hope your are better soon. The fish are bitting.'
I have many others on my Zazzle Web Site: www.zazzle.com/thomglace.
It shows haw much fun you can have with art.

Spring Pastoral
by Claire Beadon Carnell

Spring Pastoral
Oil 6 X 8 on archival canvas
Painting available on eBay

Painted this one last evening from
photographs I had taken early this
past Spring. I was really attracted to
the contrast of the red feeder with the
green grass, and of course the cows
were watching me while I was taking
the pictures!
