By the sea was inspired by a place in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina called Shem's Creek. Wonderful small inlet where fishing boats go in and out and the birds and dolphins as well as people just love it. What caught my eye was the bright building and the unusual blue sailboat and of coarse the pelican and seagulls!

This is part of a nature/seashore series I'm working on. I'm at a loss for a title. If anyone can give me some suggestions I'd appreciate it. This was fun to paint and will look great with the deceased crab I painted prior. We all know everything is here for a purpose in this great circle of life.

"Shore Line" by Tatiana Myers. Oil Pastel.
12 x 12" Watercolor paper.

This is one of my very first projects in Oil Pastel. At beginning I used to work on watercolor paper, but then switched to the board, just because it is easier for me to frame most of my work this way. This work is done with two different sets of OPs. Soft pastels - Sennelier brand were used for painting of water and more dry Neopastels were used to render those rocks. generally I love to work with seascapes but rarely can find a perfect reference what I would love to work from.

Keeping with my warm weather theme. This is inspired by a evening scene in Mt.Pleasant, S.C. When the sun goes down all the color all around seems to disappear except for a few hints of color.

This is one of a few paintings I've been experimenting with using 140lb Arches rough paper. I found this to be a fun process. No two paintings have turned out alike, so far. It all started when I found a box of shells that were collected over the years by my grandparents. And I took a lot of beach pictures to use as reference. I put them together and it's been magic!
