"Star Barn" By Debra Tritt Kreiger

"Star Barn" 10"x14" on 140lb Arches Paper

A while ago I took a visit to the star barn to see for myself why so many artist paint this barn. My husband and I were fortunate enough to land a private tour. How lucky the horses and cows were that lived there! What a beautiful building! The inside is like a church with the stars shinning light inside! My first painting dipicts the star from the outside.

"Water Tower at Kings Gap" By Debra Tritt Kreiger

"Water Tower at kings Gap" 9"x12" Watercolor on Arches 140lb paper

This is my first painting with my friends from Susquehanna Valley Plein Air Painters. It was a perfect day in the park. The acorns were falling, the bees and butterflies were busy and the frogs were in good humor. I chose the unusual water tower as my subject. This created a good composition and the colors shimmered in the sunlight.

"Energy Efficient" By Debra Tritt Kreiger

"Energy Efficient" 13"x10" Watercolor on Arches Paper

This is the Dellville Bridge, in Dellville PA. I like to go visit this bridge every so often. It was used frequently to cross over Sherman Creek. A new bridge was built for traffic and now the covered bridge can be preserved and enjoyed. I used the buggy and the title for a little humor and depth.

"Whale Tales" By Debra Tritt Kreiger

"Whale Tales" 10"x14" on 140lb Arches Paper

I couldn't resist paniting this scene. We took a whale watching tour from Provincetown, MA. We saw about 20 humpback whales, mostly moms and babies. I tried to capture the signature beauty of these magnificent creatures. My subject is a little bottom heavy so I duplicated the whales tail shape using the sea birds and lightened up the left side of the sky to draw your eye back and around. It was a beautiful day!

"Blue Bird" By Debra Tritt-Kreiger

"Bluebird" 8.5"x11" Watercolor on 140lb Arches Paper

I've been wanting to paint this fellow since early spring. I found a place where I had the opportunity to photograph some bluebirds getting ready for spring! I like the warm lit background and the interesting branches which make him stand out.

"Tiger Swallowtail" by Debra Tritt-Kreiger

"Tiger Swallowtail" 14" x 11" Watercolor on a watercolor board

I'm not sure if I'm finished with this one yet, but I have to move back to paper...This was another out-of-my-box exercises. Very different than painting on paper. The paint didn't want to stay on the board. I had to spray with Krylon UV resistant spray to set the paint. Seemed to work pretty good. Enjoy!

"Untitled" by Debra Tritt-Kreiger

"Untitled" 12" x9" Atelier Interactive Acrylics on Canvas

I've been out of my box for the last two months just exploring different techniques etc. Just a good thing to do for the creative soul. This is a Acrylic painting I did in a class with Ralph Hocker. It took a little while to get used to these paints, but I liked that fact they had a good open time.
