"Letort Morning", Pastel by Cheryl Kugler

A small, but talented group of artists from CALC (Carlisle Arts Learning Center) have been getting together once a month. In June, we spent a Saturday morning sketching out at Letort Spring Park in Carlisle.  Back in my art studio, my onsite sketch turned into a pastel under-painted with watercolor.

ATC Exhibit and Swap by Sue Marrazzo

Here is one of my ATC entries for the upcoming 2nd Annual Artist Trading Card Exhibit and Swap at CALC, The Carlisle Arts Learning Center. This exhibit runs Sept. 13 - Oct. 12, 2013. The theme is HOME. This ATC was created on an ATC using a ticket stub, a dictionary page, tissue paper, hand made gesso paper, junk mail, and a design magazine ad. These are fun to create in my 

Creative Collage Class that I teach.

The photo could be better...

but the look is that it would be from a MODERN HOME.

THE ABOVE COLLAGE WAS DONE AS A QUICK DEMO FOR A PRIVATE LESSON STUDENT RECENTLY. I USED A SPECIFIC LAYOUT, AND ALL PAPERS WERE FOUND. THERE WAS AN ENVELOPE FROM MAIL THAT I RECEIVED, MAGAZINE PAPERS, VINTAGE PAPERS, ACRYLIC PAINT, GESSO, SILVER PAINT PEN, FOUND TISSUE PAPER, FOUND OBJECTS, AND ACRYLIC MEDIUMS. IN THIS PHOTO IT IS STILL WET...THE GEL EVENTUALLY DRIED CLEAR. IT WAS DONE IN A MATTER OF MINUTES...

I POPPED IT IN A FOUND FRAME AND VOILA!

These two paintings may be seen and are available for purchase at the Carlisle Arts Learning Center, 19 N. Hanover Street, Carlisle starting May 4 thrugh June 2.  Opening reception is May 4th at 6:30 pm.  They are part of an eighteen member Susquehanna Valley Plein Air Painters exhibit.

"No Tag" By Debra Tritt Kreiger

"No Tag" Watercolor painting from the "Art on the Farm" event held by CALC and PASA Saturday June 11th, 2011.

What a nice event! What better way to support local whole foods and local artist! These are two of my passions! These sheep were a joy to watch and paint. This fellow I was told was named" No Tag". He sure had a lot of character with his huge wool coat! A young gentleman who takes care of the sheep was the highest bidder for this painting. He wanted it to remember his two years working on the Dickinson College Farm. I was very honored. What a wonderful group of students and staff and a great project to support! Can't wait till next year!
