"My Fragrant Lilies" by Debra Tritt-Kreiger

"My Fragrant Lilies" 13"x9.5" Watercolor on 140lb Arches Paper

This is one of three of my paintings that will be on display in the "Art in the Garden Show" at the Mid-Atlantic Garden Show opening March 4-7, 2010 at the York Expo Center. I really like the look of the lily. They are a fascinating flower and have so many different varieties and colors.

The lilies are beautiful, Debi..I also really like the Baby's Breath (or whatever those little flowers are surrounding the lily) and the background wash.

Love the simple background- Ultra Marine wash?
But what makes the painting for me are the small (Babies Breath?) white flowers. The lilies ain't bad either.
Beautiful painting.

Yes Bertie and Thom it is Baby's Breath. The reference was a bouquet of lilies given to me by my hubby. The Baby's Breath does give it more interest. The background was a mix Thom. It's been awhile since I painted this one, but I'm sure Ultra was in the mix. Thanks for your comments.

I always get so excited when I see the lilies start to push up through the ground - their blooms might not last long but their fragrance is unbeatable. Your lilies look like my stargazer lilies, and they smell the best.
This is just gorgeous - they look so good that I think I can smell them!
Your hubby sounds like a keeper! :)

Her hubbie is a keeper. There was probably a bottle of Malbec with that also. Beautifully done, Deb. Congratulations on your upcoming exhibit in Philly.
