Eve ~ Debi Watson,watercolor portrait

My newest original watercolor painting, image size 14" x 11"
I had this in my studio, unfinished, for a long time. There were a lot of things I wasn't happy with, but with a show deadline Monday, I attacked it with new vigor and Eve is finished. My family voted thumbs down. (My husband says Eve is ugly.) I liked the three dimensional feel, even if it isn't handled like a traditional watercolor. Que sera. List price will be $450, framed, with the caution that this must be shown at the juried exhibit, if accepted.

Hi Debi, I do not think Eve is ugly. Your husband sounds like the critic that my husband is-if it doesn't look exactly like the photo, it is not right. I happen to like Eve's serious look.

Great portrait. I love the background trees, eyes and lips most of all.

Her hair is perfection, Debi. I am mesmerized by what seems to be a quite magical apple, both with its glow and her timid handling of it. I too like her serious expression and that dress is just wonderful on a little girl!
