My Motif #1, Rockport, MA Seascape Watercolors by Daily Painter Bertie Brown

My Motif #1
original  watercolor seascape/Motif #1, Rockport, MA: 15" x 15"

back in the day
I remember the way
I first fell in love
with Motif #1
I was young
that is true
but I’m sure that I knew
I would always feel the same
about Cape Ann’s claim to fame
and when evening’s northern light
casts its glow o’er Rockport’s sights
Motif One commands the view
that I’m sharing now with you

Bertie, these are the sort of paintings I most enjoy seeing by you - although the musical ones are, of course, lovely. But you're sensibilities in rendering the water-side scenes (apparently even when you were "young") really speak to me. Thanks for sharing this one! Love it.

Thanks so much, Dianne! Would that I lived there and could paint en plein are every day!

Your love for the area and positive attitude always show in your scene paintings. Great post and a joy to read this morning.

Such a beautiful painting, Bertie! The bright colors and flow convey your feelings as do the words.
