The sun was so welcome and pleasant yesterday afternoon that I decided to play with pastels at my studio table rather than do the work I'd planned. This quick study is based on two cobbled-together GNMP photos I'd taken, plus imagination, to try and capture a mood. I worked for a little more than an hour and, while I'm not sure I accomplished my goal, I really enjoyed myself!My work can be viewed at South Mountain Sketchbook.

Great post Dianne. We learn something with every painting.
I think using your imagination leads to all kinds of wonderful things, and this lovely pastel just proves it!
