TREE BY ITALIAN LAKE By Cecelia Lyden

oil on panel 8x10 http://www.cecelialyden.com/

We arrived at Italian Lake in Harrisburg around noon. The sun was high and the shadows were short. We had been out investigating another site for plein air painting in the morning, so we did not get to the lake at an ideal time for painting--but I found a shady area across the lake from this tree and painted it. A gentle breeze made this another pleasant painting experience.

The foliage on the tree is especially lovely, Cecelia. The whole painting has a wonderful sense of peace - can almost feel that gentle breeze.
