Orchids in the Ruby Bowl. Oil. WIP by Tatiana Myers.

"Orchids in the Ruby Bowl"
12 x 12" Oil on Museum Panel.
I finally decided on my reds and started some work on color. I can see right now - it will be pretty slow process, but I'm going to learn a lot from all mistakes I do and next similar painting will be much easier... What is a general idea. I only started on my background (not everything done yet) and put first vale of red on a bowl. So far not too bad, but I clearly see what i needed to do different and perhaps I'll have a way to get over it. I'm not disappointed, I just wish I would have some smarter person around hinting me time to time 'do this' and "don't do that". Still - it is a fun process and I'm going to try my best on this painting.

I have a antique ruby glass bowl - it might be just like that one. Also have a set of mini bowls, and I love the red glass. Your painting is very nicely done. All the light and reflections are superb.

Thank You, Michael and Dianne!
This one is "to be continued" type of project, so when time will be right I'll post more (all depends how soon it will dry).

I love to work on this painting... look like sometime I'll be looking to get some more Oil paints.. I only have few, but I sort of like it!
