"Chinese Eggplants" by Taryn Day

oil on board
6"x6.5"

Yesterday I went shopping for still life supplies, which is always fun- an Asian market, a fabric store and three thrift shops. I'd like to begin to use more color, and these pretty Chinese eggplants seemed a perfect way to start.

The market can be a terrific source of inspiration. Well done Taryn.

Love the red violet against the blue green. I once took a workshop with Wolf Kahn who expressed that color could be the idea for painting. This is a great example of that.
