Day 47

Members of our plein air group (Susquehanna Valley
Plein Air Painters) have spent the last two days
painting the sunflower fields of Ashcombe's Garden
Center. In addition to the beautiful sunflowers,
there were butterflies, bees and goldfinches and even a baby
bunny rabbit that squealed when one of our painters
walked a little too close to where he was hiding.

If you would like to see more of my work,
please visit my website or my blog. If you are
interested in purchasing any of my paintings you see
here on this blog, please contact me.

I just wish I could do this with you all. Getting together to paint would be so much fun! Love the sunflowers. And way to go on keeping your committment to painting! Terrific.

Beautiful work Claire. You are truly a "plein air painter"! This was such a nice place to paint (and have lunch :) I will have to finish my painting later today and hopefully post it as well.

Bertie, your ears had to be burning over the last couple of days...there were several of us DPP members among the group that was painting these sunflower fields, and at some point each one of us brought up the fact that you make painting sunflowers look so effortless, when in fact that is far from the truth. We were in awe of your work before, now we are positively reverent!

sunflowers and sunflower fields are HARD! But they are so joyful and proud, we long to try in our own way to capture that!
SALUTE TO SUNFLOWERS - STUNNING and SERENE!
