BUDDHA GARLIC
by Claire Beadon Carnell

'Buddha Garlic'
Oil 6 x 6

A study on garlic, one of my favorite food items.
This was a nice plump garlic bulb, with very
prominent cloves. Glad I am done painting it,
because now I will use it in tonight's supper!

Ahh, I can smell the aroma of something wonderful cooking up in the kitchen, Claire!

Love this simple little still life. Rich colored background sets off the garlic.

It's amazing how something so sensual & savory to the palette, can be such a powerful subject on a canvas. Great subject; great painting.

Thanks, Bertie. I pressed one of the cloves into the marinade for our grilled chicken tonight, and it was delicious!

Thank you, Charlotte.

Thanks, Pat. Really looking at the garlic (especially the whole bulb) while I was painting this still life made me realize how curvaceous and sensual they are.
