BACK DOOR GARDEN
by Claire Beadon Carnell

'Back Door Garden'
Oil 36 x 48
NFS

As I sit here this morning in anticipation of whether
or not the Groundhog will predict an early Spring, I
thought that this painting I did of the garden in my
back yard would fool my senses into thinking that
Winter is finally on it's way out...knowing in reality
that snow is predicted for this evening. Sigh...
I'll just continue to think of rugosa roses, blue bachelor
buttons, Irises and lilacs...I can smell their sweet
scent...and I think I see a little bird feathering his nest
in the white birdhouse that hangs above my basement
door...

If you would like to see more of my work,
please check out my website or my blog.
Thank you!

Claire, is this your back door? I so love stone houses and I know PA has many of them. Not only is the garden gorgeous (lilacs are my favorite flowers!), but that house is to die for! Let's trade, shall we? I'll even take the snow! LOL Beautiful painting and I'm ready for spring myself. This has been a really cold winter here!

Reminds me of a few trips to the Cotswolds that my wife and I took. Beautiful.

Looks like an English Garden...would that be the 'Cotswolds' Thom is referring to? This painting is so inviting...I want to stop in and have some tea and a long chat!
