Awakening was painted to become my show entry to Annual Oil Pastel Society 2009 web show "Transformation". Later I also entered this painting at annual juried regional show of York Art Association where this work got an Award of Excellence.
This painting is representing a rare natural phenomena (well, not so rare in Pennsylvania!) of freezing rain covering my favorite bush of climbing roses.For those of you, who wander, what happened to the rose bush - no, it wasn't hurt and still bringing me those pretty red flowers year after year.

Yes, Mary Beth, it was on the very end of my portfolio, I'm pretty sure you know this one. I tried to do my best with pictures of it, but never managed to get it totally accurate.Well, maybe someday it will be ob another show.

It was my first every try on ice/glass and any of those things. It is not so scary, how I though it is.
