Watercolor in Progress by Kathy Michels

I always love working on my dancers.  This time of year I don't paint as often as I'd
like because I am always on a photoshoot somewhere.  Having lupus really restricts
the time I spend outdoors.  Springtime is a wonderful time for me to be out getting
photos that I will paint from during the hot summer months - though I do tend to
overdo it!  I am hoping to have "Artists at Work" finished up in the next week or so.

Pretty in Pink by Kathy Michels

Pretty in Pink is approx. 10" x 22" watercolor I

finished this summer.  An adorable little girl that was so excited as she prepared for her ballet dancing.

"Pretty in Pink" by Kathy Michels

"Pretty in Pink" is watercolor piece that I recently finished.  It was from a photo shoot we did with York Dance.  She was just so cute and so excited I knew I had to paint this.

"To Dance To Dream" Watercolor by Kathy Michels

The greatest payment an artist can receive for their painting is not measured in money but in the tears from a mother. Today at the reception and unveiling of our paintings for the "Degas Project" I received just that. It was so rewarding to see how happy the entire family was with the painting of their beautiful daughter. The model was a beautiful girl - inside and out - giggly, happy and full of joy - truly a joy and honor to paint. Finished watercolor matted and framed is 44" x 28".

"Tender Moments" watercolor by Kathy Michels

I posted this sometime ago and I finally finished just it up. They were just adorable little four year olds waiting for their turn in ballet class.
