Here is a new Mixed Media Painting, 

Sunset

 that I painted for the latest DPP Aug./Sept. 2013 ART Challenge.

 I painted this abstract landscape to follow the theme, "Summer Heat." 

I used acrylic paints, and new acrylic mediums, 

so it is an experimental mixed media art piece.

 My theme is centered on my travels this winter in my 1996 29' Winnebago RV. Improving and diversifying my painting subjects has been one of the main goals of my travels. My goals for this challenge are to pick up speed in my painting, and be freer in my use of color and brushwork. 



"The Boot Strap"

I have been visiting my brother and wife in Arizona during my travels this winter.

This boot belongs to my brother. He does leather work and made these straps with silver conchas and a silver buckle. I thought it would work well for one of my small challenge paintings.

"Let Your Light Shine" by Rebecca Jennings 30 Paintings/ 30 Days - #5

My theme is centered on events during my travels this winter in my 1996 29' Winnebago RV. Painting has been one of my main reasons for my travels. My goals are to pick up speed in my painting, and be freer in my use of color and brushwork.

 

"Let Your Light Shine"

My RV porch light had burned out, and a couple nights ago I missed the step in the dark. I was not hurt, but it was a good reminder to get a replacement bulb installed. (It takes the little push-in auto tail-light bulbs) This painting is also a reminder to" always let our light shine"!

"Treat Them Special"

I have found its a good idea to have extra dog treats when your pups are out of their normal routine and in unfamiliar surroundings. One of my pups slipped their collar. Fortunately I thought quickly enough to offer Curley Joe a treat, to which he came running right to me.

He might have been dinner for a javelina!!

"Breaking the Time Habit"

While traveling, I am attempting to slow down and enjoy the moments, savoring the special ones; the visits with family, the magic of a campfire, the birds and wildlife, the sunrises and sunsets, the reflections upon a lake, the sharpness of the cold wind. Wherever my travels take me and whatever the season, I want to experience it to the fullest.
