SPRAWLING TREE ON FISHER RUN ROAD By Cecelia Lyden

oil
11x14/stretched canvas

This was one of several interesting trees in a pasture on Fisher Run Road in Mechanicsburg. I seem to be on a tree "kick". When I see unusual and beautiful trees like this, I just have to paint them.

"Harrisburg from West Fairview Park" by Beth Bathe

"Harrisburg from West Fairview Park", 6 x 6 oil on panel
Yesterday I had the pleasure of painting with the Susquehanna Valley Plein Air Painters  from a beautiful spot on the west side of the Susquehanna river looking over to the Harrisburg skyline. It was finally a glorious summer day, nice temperature and low humidity! I arrived rather late in the morning and was the last painter to leave around 2 pm (just as the sun was really starting to gleam on the capitol dome). Thanks to Cecelia for picking such a perfect day and spot.

Stroll Atop Devil's Den by Jane Albin

"Stroll Atop Devil's Den"
5"x7" Original watercolor on 140#Arches Cold Pressed paper

I've been reminiscing about my time last summer in the Gettysburg Artist Colony.  Here is a new
watercolor from a photo I took then.  I'm looking forward to doing more plein air painting in
Gettysburg again soon.

SUNNY DAY IN NEWPORT By Cecelia Lyden

acrylic on stretched canvas
11x14
I never suspected that when I started this painting on a warm, late summer day that I would be finishing it on one of the coldest days of this late fall [ not officially winter yet]. Several small paintings and holiday obligations after I started it, I finally pushed myself to finish it. Now to resume wrapping Christmas gifts and writing out cards.
