Some of Hers Still Life watercolors by Bertie Brown

Some of Hers
original still life watercolor w/jug, glass, iron pan: 11" x 14"

an item of hers
a few of my own
some are just borrowed
I’ve got them on loan
those years, 92!
amazingly quick
filled every last nook
and cranny I think
and now as I sort
through the stuff she held dear
will I at long last
go joyfully, not fear?
it’s one out of one
that’s how it’s been done
since time has begun
not one can outrun

Bertie, this is beautiful - and I so share your sentiments. I love to have a mixture of my mother's pieces and some of my own in my still life paintings - it's as though a part of her is there.
