Michels Watercolor headed for Children's Palace in China

International watercolor artist, Kathy Michels' painting "Sugar and Spice" will continue it's overseas tour. The painting was one of 200 juried into the Shanghai Zhujiajiao International Watercolour Biennial Exhibition. The show, which ran from Nov. 28 until Dec. 31, saw a total of over 10,000 entries. Michels has just received word that the show would like to retain her artwork for an additional two months for a traveling exhibit that will take place at the Children's Palace in Jan. and the Oriental Pearl Tower in Feb.  The Pearl Tower exhibit will be part of the Chinese New Year's celebration festivities.  The tower normally sees 12,000 visitors per day but during the new year's activities the biennial reports visitors average 30,000 per day.

The Watercolor Biennial recently sent all exhibitors copies of the exhibit book and certificates for being part of this show. Each artist was given a full page in this book for their juried entry and the artist name and name of painting was listed in both English and Chinese (shown in photos).
