THREATENING RAIN By Cecelia Lyden

oil/board
11x14

When Julie Riker and I started out to paint Tuesday afternoon, the weather was warm and balmy. We changed our original location from the Marysville side of the river to the Fort Hunter side.By the time we travelled to the other side of the River and found a nice view of the bridge, the weather had changed from warm and balmy to overcast, with rain threatening. Luckily it remained balmy and was such a pleasure to sit there, watching and painting the rapidly changing sky.

Very foreboding sky... I am surprised you didn't get rained out by the looks of it. I can almost feel the huge raindrops beginning to fall!

I thnk it did not start raining till that evening--the sky kept changing while we were there, and I may have "over-dramatized" it a bit.
