“Art on the Farm” will showcase the Cumberland Valley’s unique agricultural resources through art, education and food. Guided tours of the farm from 4-6 p.m. will allow visitors to gain a deeper perspective and appreciation for key topics relating to sustainable land management and food production. Additionally, area painters, ceramicists, fiber artists and performance artists will be working “en plein air.”
The event will culminate with a live and silent auction of art that portrays the diversity of agricultural landscapes throughout the Cumberland Valley as well as pieces created during “Art on the Farm.”
Other event highlights include:
- Seasonal hors d’oeuvres prepared by area restaurateurs The Green Room and Piatto
- Live music by local musicians
- Locally crafted beers and wines from Market Cross Pub & Brewery, Roy Pitz Brewing Company and Pennsylvania vineyards
- A hearty dinner made from local ingredients
This is just a 3" x 5" portion of the "meat" chickens painting that will be completed on site at the farm that day. The actual finished painting size will be 10-1/4" x 12-1/2" and I am donating it to the Art on the Farm auction to be held at the Dickinson College Farm 553 Park Drive in Boiling Springs. Guided tours will be available from 4 to 6pm.
