"Colors of Summer" by Dianne Lorden

My thistle feeder is near a nice stand of cone flowers, so the finches will sometimes rest on them. (I think they might even like the seeds.) This scene from my corner garden really felt like the best of summer to me! It's done in Inktense by Derwent watercolor pencils with a modest overlay of Prismacolor colored pencil on 8"x8" hot pressed watercolor paper. My fine art can be viewed at South Mountain Sketchbook.
