'Summer at the Rose Farm'
Gettysburg Festival Art Colony 2012
Oil
9 x 12
My final painting from the Gettysburg Festival Artist Colony
is of the historic Rose Farm on the Gettysburg National
Military Park. I took the path up by the ruins of the
old stone barn, and then found a nicely shaded tree line.
I think four of us artists actually settled there (there was an
excellent view from every vantage point), and it
was nice to have company while we painted and avoided
the enormous groundhog holes!
If you would like to see more of my work,
interested in purchasing any of my paintings you see
here on this blog, please contact me.

Such a lovely feeling of summer in this one, Claire. Very soft and evocative.
What a peaceful painting Claire. Summer must be one of your favorite seasons....it comes through in your paintings.
You Plein Air works are only getting better and better, Claire! Totally lovely.
Claire, What a pleasant surprise to see that you are coming to Wellsboro! I really thought it wasn't going to happen but it is now. You are already a good painter so I hope it is worthwhile! I think Julie is coming as well? Should be fun.
