Look at it upside down or downside up

Painting is about problem-solving. That's why I can go from my daytime gig as a research analyst at the Pennsylvania Capitol to my other full-time love - making art.

View the issue from different angles.
What I have found, and it applies to art and to LIFE, is that if you view your dilemma from different angles, chances are good that you will find the answer(s).
When I get stuck on a painting, I turn the canvas upside down or downside up to see if there are any new ways to see the issue. I also rotate the canvas to different angles, looking for new lines (life paths, for example), value changes (applies in life, too), overall form (as in approach).
It works the same in life, I believe. When I get stuck on policy questions or personal matters, I turn the problem on its head, do more research and ask new questions.
In life and art, for me, new ways of seeing always brings new ways of doing and the approach - the new angle - is the bonus because it has taught me a fresh way of BEING, SEEING, DOING. It's all good. It's all very good.
The purple/green painting pictured here? I haven't a clue what it is right now. There are some problems I have to overcome. So, it's back to the easel.
