Al Retherford's by Julie Riker

10x20 oil

This was one of the paintings I did during the week of the Camp Hill Plein Air Festival.
I did this in two plein air sessions.
Most people driving along Market Street have noticed this flower stand along the side of the road.  It is always a burst of color in any season, with pumpkins and mums in the fall, Christmas trees and wreaths in December, bulb flowers in spring, and now in summer is filled with gorgeous hanging planters.  It beckoned to be painted.

YOU CERTAINLY HAVE CAPTURED THE EXPLOSION OF COLOR ONE SEES WHEN PASSING RUTHERFORD'S--HARD TO RESIST-BUT BE FOREWARNED, THEY DO NOT ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS --CHECK OR CASH ONLY. SPECTACULAR PAINTING, JULIE.

One of my favorites, Julie. Love how You handled those color spots and values... Very inviting painting!.. Reminding me one of award winners at Blossom-II.

I love this, Julie. I painted this fantastic place in the fall with all of the pumpkins and chrysanthemums.
This is gorgeous!

It's breathtaking, Julie. And the horizontal format just adds to it. Lovely!

I'm glad You liked it, Julie! The "Flower Market" was the one I compared to yours. Both are very successful paintings!
