Wires to Heaven, 16 x 20, By Ron Donoughe

There was a time when wires were edited out from my cityscapes. I now include them because they show our time here in a historical context. These wires appear to extend right up to heaven – a direct line in case you get in a jam. Everything will be wireless soon and I'll miss all the linear clutter.

Rectangles, squares, triangles, trapezoids-a marvelous, lively arrangement of geometric shapes volumes, warm and cool colors and those ever-present connecting wires. So abstract-so representational.

I like the wires, and everything else. If I ever paint wires in a scene I have to hold my breath- if I mess up I have to repaint so much before I try again.

Great painting, made especially so by the wires. I really love all the shapes in light and shadow and the bold, beautiful reds. Really nice!
