Hydrangeas by Christine Marx

Well, as you can tell by this painting I'm feeling rather loose this week. I just thought I'd spend the week having fun.

Tonight is my champagne reception at the Timmons Gallery, and since I am a bit nervous I decided to lock myself in my studio and just have play with the paint. No rules, no thinking, just painting. It was very enjoyable and these are the results.

I hope you all have a wonderful Mother's Day and weekend!

I am liking your new loose approach. Soft and lovely!

Thank you Donna and thank you Julie! Julie, I am having a lot of fun with the looseness....it feels like cheating on a test, though, after painting in such a tight manner for the past three years, and working so hard painting realistically. Hard to describe but I've been happy with the results so just keep changing palettes and experimenting!

I totally agree. Your spirit is coming through on this. It looks confident and controlled as well. Do more!!

Thank you Ron! I just got a whole lot of flowers for Mother's day from my daughters and will be doing many more for the next several days. Thanks for the encouragement!

Ditto all the above--loose, no rules, no thinking worked very well.
