"Above the Mystic Valley" by Michael LeKites

I have worked on this painting off and on for years. Finally finished. It started out as an acrylic and late last year I began applying oils. It's possible I may have posted an image of this at some point a long time ago as a work in progress. The area this is based on was a spot some friends and I had camped near way back in my college days, deep in the Allegheny Forest. The background, of course, is completely a fantasy concept. Much of the foreground is too, but the rock is fairly close to the original.
Oil on acrylic, 18x24.

I agree. The woods in this state are mystical and you've captured it beautifully! I love moss!
