Driving In The Fog by Nancy Herman

DRIVING IN THE FOG
8" x 6"  oil on canvas
An ordinary drive takes on an air of mystery in the fog.  Not being able to see everything seems to infuse what can be seen with a certain romantic intensity.

More of a nerve-racking experience for me, but nevertheless this is a great depiction of cars, driving[ very slowly] in the fog-- wonderful controlled handling of the grays, the cars' head and back lights, the traffic lights the shrouded trees-the painting conveys the drivers' caution and control--very nice-

Welcome to the DPP Blog, Nancy! This is painted beautifully, and you have captured the denseness and atmosphere of the fog perfectly. I look forward to seeing more of your work!

I agree. Bring on more work. I especially enjoying paintings like this because it isn't something we normally see as a painting. Nice job.

Lovely painting, Nancy! I couldn't agree more with the comments made by Claire and Ron -- very true to life. All I can hope is that you weren't driving while you painted this! And, welcome to DPP, by the way.

Nancy, I'm so glad you've joined DPP! I've noticed your work before, and I find it quite original. Love your sense of color, and your surprising points of view.
This one is superb- and fear inducing.
