"Vanity"Floral Painting By Donna Holdsworth

This painting is done on 14x11 textured stretched canvas.  Acrylic paint, mediums and metallics.  I used gel medium for the perfume bottle but the "puffer" did not balance out.  I painted a piece of cheesecloth and collaged it into the painting and I think that did the trick.  Visit my BLOG:  Donna Holdsworth Contemporary Art.  Thank you!

This is neat, Donna - I really like the subdued color choice. The fact that it contains metallics and cheesecloth is amazing! Clever work-around and a very mice job.

I like the colors here and wish I could see it close up to see the elements and texture that you used.

Thanks Maria! If you click on it it gets a little bigger. I used lite joint compound on the initial canvas. After that dries I seal it . Then I used acrylic paint with a plastic bag "watercolor" technique for the background cloth. Gel medium for the perfume bottle, collaged cheesecloth for the puffer & the rest is just alot of layers of paint!
