LAVENDER BLUE II
an Original Oil Painting
by Claire Beadon Carnell

'Lavender Blue II'
Oil
10 x 8

Among all of the 'stuff' that resides in my studio is a
small collection of old bottles I have collected over the
years.  They always make the neatest vases for those
small bouquets of treasures from the garden - in this
case some late-blooming lavender.

Claire, beautiful composition. I really like the interest you created by off-setting the doily and the bottle.

I like the quiet simplicity of your composition.

I have a few of my dad's bottles like this and also use them as little vases - esp for accidentally broken stems of summer flowers or to root tiny cuttings. I love the sensitivity of your painting and the continuity of the colors.

Claire, This is really "eye candy" for me. My grandmother's doilie is in your painting too!
Nice composition and harmony.
