Last Year's Corn Field by Dianne Lorden

I recently completed this Inktense pencil/Prismacolor pencil drawing of a barn as seen across the chopped-up old corn from the prior season. This is on the GNMP battlefield; I took the photo last year and painted it this winter in the studio.
I had fun, and like the way the buildings turned out, but the stalks of corn became a bit overwhelming. There should no doubt be more of them, but I had reached my broken-stalk limit!
My artwork can be viewed at South Mountain Sketchbook.

I keep coming back to look at this, Dianne. It's a real challenge when the the foreground is proportionately larger than the rest of the painting, and I like the way you have handled the perspective of the corn stalks - it creates a nice sense of distance. Also like the transparent and luminous color throughout!
