I did a similar painting of my niece and had it accepted in the National Watercolor Society, so I did this one as an entry for the American WC Society's show. Terrific piece; it's always a challenge to represent one medium, such as the mosaic, with another, in this case watercolor. Great job!

Thanks, everybody! The mosaic wasn't nearly as hard as you think - you should give it a try. I am planning to do another with the mosaic as it was kind of fun.
