Fly Away Sunshine - Deb Watson - Watercolor

This is a watercolor painting of my grandson in front of a mosaic. I did a similar painting of my niece and had it accepted in the National Watercolor Society, so I did this one as an entry for the American WC Society's show. Whether it gets in or not, I like the effect. It's always so satisfying for me to do photo realism with blue jeans and people. www.debwatson.org

The portrait-the mosaic--amazing artistry and handling of your medium.

Terrific piece; it's always a challenge to represent one medium, such as the mosaic, with another, in this case watercolor. Great job!

I would love to see this in person. The little boy reminds me of my youngest son Andrew. It is always a pleasure to see your posts Debi.

Terrific! Very Robert Vickrey-ish! Beautifully and sensitively rendered.

Quite beautiful, and I love the mood. Man, you have tremendous patience to paint that mosaic, and it makes a great background.

Thanks, everybody! The mosaic wasn't nearly as hard as you think - you should give it a try. I am planning to do another with the mosaic as it was kind of fun.
