In the Blooming

My field of sunflowers

prepping for hours

is ready to host

an end of summer toast

boasting nectar so sweet

toasty seeds, quite a treat

for our faithful dine-ees

chatting happily as they feast

dragonflies and bumble bees

butterflies, such drama queens

feasting goldfinches

those now reformed grinches...

nature humming in one accord

songs of joy, innocent and pure

heady heat waves

shimmer and sway

hovering o’er

this yellow-green world

as they wave goodbye

to my sunflower girls

Thank you both!
Andy, 'twas good to see you on Sat. I'll be watching for the next posting of your demo painting.
I heard that you did well...and I did better on Sunday, so I just may do that show again...hope your '11 show season ends successfully and you have some time to enjoy the fruits of your labor..I don't think anyone works harder than you!

I think that it has been an exceptional good year for the sunflowers - they've just been gorgeous! Your beautiful painting captures their wonderful sunny colors, and will last on while our sunflowers fade into Fall.
Beautiful, Bertie!
