Yesterday evening I went through the garden and picked
things I thought might get damaged by the winds and rain
that were predicted with the arrival of Hurricane Irene.
Among the things I had chosen to bring into the house were
some poblano peppers, which varied in color from
greens to very dark reds.

I was so glad I had chosen these peppers when I woke up
to find that Hurricane Irene had knocked out our electricity
around 4 a.m., and the other things I had planned to do today
were not possible without power, phone and/or water.
It was a perfect opportunity to just paint, which is
exactly what I did.  The power has finally come back on
12 hours later, so I guess I'll have to get those chores done...

Your peppers are wonderful--beautiful colors, value changes, making them look so scuptural.

Awesome paintings as usual! You'll be done with your 100 paintings before you know it!

You somehow managed to have a great light source without electricity and without much light in the sky. Great pepper paintings, lively and fun.

Thanks so much for your kind comments, everyone.

Taryn, around noon the skies got much lighter here in Gardners, and by 3:00 in the afternoon there was beautiful sun. I prefer painting by natural light, so it was wonderful!
