1/2 of a Chum Salmon Pair Painting by Thom Glace

Transparent Watercolor on Cresent Mat Board
First Part of a Mated Pair of Chum Salmon- Stream Version
Image Area for Part One-Female is 9" x 4.5".
Note: Non-Professional Photograph.

While this salmon appears colorful-
like many females in the animal kingdom,
she is almost dull in comparison to the Male of the Species.
The next half of this painting is the colorful half- The Male.
The Chum Salmon is found in the Northwest- most common
in the Alaska waters. It is part of my series of
Salmon and Char Species Watercolor Studies.

Interesting shape of the mouth Thom. I suppose the female is just gray. I did not realize male/female color difference was also in the world of fish. You have probably posted about this fact before, but I just picked up on it today.
