WILD FERNS By Cecelia Lyden

oil on linen

16x20

I had been spying this patch of wild ferns, in the corner of our yard, growing in front of a rhododendrum bush for a while. Rainfall prevented me from setting up outside till, at last, it stopped enough to, at least, begin. Dodging raindrops, I worked on the painting for a couple of days. Finally, the sun emerged long enough to finish it.

I love the soothing, cool color palette in this one Cecelia. It almost has a tropical feel to it.
