Poppy Pizzicato Watercolor Floral/Poppies by Pennsylvania Daily Painter Bertie Brown - Art is Instrumental

Poppy Pizzicato

original watercolor floral/poppies: 5"w x 7"h

Sophie’s Pouty Poppies

our poppies are wailin’

has the sun gone sailin’?

their petals are drippin’

their stems cannot lift ‘em

they’re sad and be-draggled

their foliage is fraggled

‘tis def’nitely not

a show stopping lot

but we won’t despair

(though it’s just not fair)

we hope next year’s show

won’t be rained out, ya know...

I love the looseness in this painting, and the poppies sure pop!

Hi Bertie - we posted at the same time last night! Great colors and design in this one. I am going through the same thing with my gardens. This weather is too extreme. I need one of those anti-depression lights to sit under. Maybe our bold florals are a way to combat the darkness. oh - that was too deep for me.

This has a wonderful dreamy, fluid quality.
