Giant Pears by Christine Marx

As you know, I usually paint classic still life. The gallery that I am in has recently taken a huge turn towards more contemporary/abstract works. So I thought I'd give it a whirl myself. This is more whimsical than my usual work but I like it (and so does the gallery owner so a thumbs up on that one)

I have always enjoyed pears as a subject. Their shapes resemble human forms to me and can completely stand on their own. Nice job.

Wow, they are giant! They look ever so real while still having an artfully rendered charm. And the way you've arranged them rocks - wonderful shapes.

Thanks Dianne! I tried to get the light switch above the painting in to show the scale of the painting. LOL. They were a lot of fun but for the next one I need BIGGER brushes.
