MY NEIGHBORS' POPPIES By Cecelia Lyden

acrylic on panel

8x10

Last Sunday, I noticed that my neighbors' poppies were finally starting to bloom. The long range forcast for the following week was showers every day. I called Julie and we decided to paint the flowers the first day the sun was shining. That Monday there was some sunshine. Julie came over after work that afternoon and we painted for about 3 hours. We even needed to apply sun lotion. The rest of the week it poured buckets. "Carpe diem,"everyone.
