Winter Landscape - Mark H Brown

I had begun this piece before I left for Florida.  It was a beautiful winter sky morning, with the rays of light coming down over the entire valley.  I made up the snow and mountains to complement the sky, adding I think to the cool feeling of the painting.  It might be out of place with all the spring flowers coming up now, but I enjoyed the challenge of capturing the strong glow of light against the very neutral surrounding cloud mass.  I'm really enjoying these landscapes.  Thank you all for all your comments over the last year.  I appreciate your input and encouragement.  Happy painting!

Oooooh, how you captured the drama of that sky! It's so much about the sky, I don't think it's out of place at all to show it now. Terrific job, esp on those difficult rays of light!

This is magnificent - the rays of light peeking out of the clouds are painted so beautifully. What a great painting!

...and we love seeing your posts Mark. I imagine seeing a white horse bursting through those clouds at any moment. Awesome!
