"Orchids in Ruby Glass" Oil 12 x 12" WIP.
One more update at the same very painting. I'm pretty sure that next one will be the final one. It is very close now, just need to put some more accents here and there and go with one more glaze over part of background and... i think I'm done with it.

I am loving the light shining through the ruby glass, Tatiana. This is fabulous.
This is a most beautiful piece, Tatiana. Reds are not easy to paint, but you captured all the reflections so well.
Thank You, ladies! This is my first work of this kind and I think it will be successful painting after all (even several times I wasn't sure at all what I'm going to do about it). Glass came out good.It took me few weeks of looking and shopping for the right red and after all I ended up with mixing it our of 3 reds and one blue... Fortunately this is something what could be easy done with Oils and so complicated with pastels, if You don't have that right color (and most of the time when you looking for the right stick it is nowhere to be found).
This is absolutely beautiful! You've done an incredible job here! It looks like you could reach into it and pick it up! Very nice!
Thank You, Michael!
It does look better in person and.. I hope to have it finished... perhaps - tonight. I have a few reasons that keeping me away from extensive using of Oils, but I came to the point when I have a feeling - this is a medium I have to use if if want to do my best. I'm not planning to switching "into oils', but I need few very strong works for future exhibitions and this is a first of those works I'm going to do... Not many. maybe 2 or 3 more till the end of this year, if I'm lucky. Whatever it takes. So far I'm pretty happy with how it looks like, even I know some things could have done better. Well... we will see what I will end up with here.
These reds are amazing. What a beautiful piece! I love it Tatiana.
