"Violets" by Debra Tritt Kreiger

"Violets" 13"x10 Watercolor on 140lb paper

I painted at the PA Garden Show of York with the Susquehanna Valley Plein Air Painters. It was a wonderful and humbling experience. I painted a still life arrangement with yellow tulips and pearl marbles in a clear vase. I can't show it to you because I traded it with an aspiring young 9 year old artist named Kate. She watched me most of the day and went home to do her own painting! How great is that!
So I thought I'd post my favorite painting of the every so romantic violets.

What an awesome post. I needed to read this today. Thank you for lifting my spirits Deb. The violets are lovely!

Deb, this is so lovely! Kate stopped by to see me paint on Saturday - what a sweet young lady she is. I know how pleased she was that you traded paintings with her, and I am sure it is something she will always remember and hold dear.

Debra, I'm so happy to know you traded your painting to Kate! She is obviously an art lover based on Claire's comment above. I suspect that she will always remember you and I can imagine how much you've inspired her! I know that nicety would have made my day. And? These little violets are exquisite and are making me want some for my desk at work!

Thanks Mary Beth and Claire.

A great story Deb! Trading the painting with Kate is even better than actually selling it...something you will always remember, and Kate will not just hang it on her wall, but be inspired by it and grow in her own art.

Nice story Deb; I saw this one at Gallerie 13 on First Friday. Better in "real time"!

Such a peaceful, beautiful piece. The purples are nicely done throughout.

Thanks Everyone. I'm keeping Kate's painting in my studio to remind me to keep things simple! Life and art doesn't have to be complicated!
