PA Garden Show of York by Julie Riker

FLOWERS, FLOWERS, FLOWERS!
Several members of the Susquehanna Valley Plein Air Painters are demonstrating "plein air" painting at the garden show. Well, it is not really plein air as we are painting inside the expo center, but there are beautifully landscaped gardens that make you feel as if you stepped into an April day. We also have some member paintings on display in the Art in the Garden booth.

It is not just gardens though. There are lots of booths displaying plants, floral arrangements, garden tools, and neat architectural garden treasures.
I was especially attracted to this set up at the booth for Circa Antiques....full of interesting shapes and textures. This is where I set up my easel and got busy.

The show runs through Sunday and there will be painters at various times throughout the weekend, so if you have a chance check it out.

Sorry I missed this exhibit and opportunity, Julie. As always your work is rich in shapes, colors, values and movement around the picture plane.
