"Iris" 6.5"x9" watercolor on 140lb hot pressed paper
This is a small painting I started while painting at the Garden Show in York with the SVPAP. I just had to finish it. The painting took on a new feeling due to the smooth surface of the paper. My Iris's will soon be blooming in my garden! Can't Wait!
Happy Spring everyone!

Well this beautiful iris painting sure brightened my day! This is absolutely lovely, Deb.
Absolutely gorgeous, Deb--tremendous skill and artistry to combine detail with color and values, resulting it such delicacy. I can almost feel the fragility of those petals.
Yes, the irises are on their way! Your painting gives a gorgeous preview of the real thing. I agree totally with the prior comments - you got the texture and delicacy just right.
Beautiful rendering of one of my favorite flowers!
Beautiful, Deb. I can feel those velvety petals.
