'Trinity'
Oil 30 x 24
Available
Last fall, I was painting at the historical Two Mile House,
which is in Carlisle, PA (and is owned by the Cumberland
County Historical Society). I took a break to walk through the
wooded acres in the back of the property, and found these three
black locust growing up side by side, lifting their broken
limbs up to the heavens.
I've always believed that no matter how hard life gets, regardless
of the challenges we must face, our faith will guide us through
even the worst of times. For me, this painting is an embodiment
of that belief.

Very powerful painting Claire. I love the abstract design.
Oh I love the angle of this one. Your story and the name is beautiful. Great Job!
Strong design--stunning, breathtaking perspective
Powerful and evocative composition. Your stylized tree forms and contrasting value range add drama to the ants-eye viewing angle. Beautiful painting, Claire.
Clair, I like the way this angle accentuates the trees' upward reach. And the shadows of branches on the trunks really add horizontal interest to a quite vertically oriented piece.
Awesome, Claire. I love the unique perspective.
Yes, a powerful painting. Makes me feel like there is really something bigger than me, than all of us.
Thank you, Ron. This really had me thinking more shapes and negative spaces than actual tree parts, and I enjoyed every minute of it.
Kathy, thanks so much for your comments!
Thank you, Cecelia - the design was my immediate inspiration for this painting.
David, I am especially touched by your comments, as you are the master of tree paintings! Thank you.
Thanks, Dianne. I liked the way the patterns of the horizontal shadows created a sense of balance in the design as well.
Thank you, Pat!
Maria, your comments express exactly how I felt as I looked up into these trees, and I am so happy I was able to convey those feelings through my painting. Thank you!
WOWSER!!!
My favorite part here will be those shadows... And sure whole picture is very well designed. Congratulations, it is very successful painting!
Wonderful Claire! These trees have a real human feel to me...like figures reaching toward the sky.
All around awesome post. Amen!
THis painting lifts my spirit. So very well done.
Claire, majestic and spiritual. A real sense of greatness as we follow the journey upwards toward to the light and vast sky. And a beauty of craftsmanship as well. Wonderful!
Thank you so much for the comments, everyone. I really appreciate them!
