Fort Hunter Rain Cloud by Steve Wetzel

This is an 8x10 plein air piece from last summer which I didn't quite get to finish at the time due to the coming storm. It was one of those little ones that you set aside to dry and then seem to overlook for awhile. I pulled it out just before heading up to the Seven Livelies Warm Springs retreat a couple of weeks ago and took it along for something to work on in the evening. I didn't have much left to touch up before I considered it finished...a little more definition to the bridge toward the left side of the painting and a little more definition to the rocks in the foreground.

I love the wisping of the clouds against the mountain!
