Susquehanna River at Accomac by Steve Wetzel

This is a quick 6x8 study which I just did on Sunday afternoon from the parking lot of the Accomac Inn near Wrightsville. I was using Judson's Carton Board for the first time just to see if I would like the way it takes the paint and I have to say I was pretty pleased with the result. I spent a little less than an hour on the painting, wanting to concentrate more on speed and capturing the first impression than anything else...plus as I said earlier...the real focus of this session was the assessment of the carton board for small, quick studies.

Beautiful! Those smoke stacks in the distance remind me of when I've been to Pittsburgh years ago. Then again, it could be a scene here in IL too.

You got a lot accomplished in an hour. Wonderful color and detail for 6x8.
